Aminoacids

While there are many different aminoacids in nature, human proteins are formed from twenty aminoacids. Even if aminoacids are necessary for life, not all of them can be produced naturally in the body. Unlike humans, plants are capable of synthesizing all twenty aminoacids.

Aminoacids are the building blocks of proteins that we consume in foods like meat and poultry. Plant-based protein sources include foods like soybeans or quinoa.

Vegan proteins

Proteins are an essential part of our nutrition, making up about 17% of the body’s weight. Proteins are the main component of our muscles, skin, internal organs, especially the heart and brain, as well as our eyes, hair and nails.

Our immune system also requires proteins to help make antibodies that are required to help fight infections.
